Since the very first version of SharePoint there have always been multiple ways to query information, such as list items, from its databases. But with each new version of SharePoint, an increasing number of new and easy ways to quickly and efficiently query information from SharePoint emerge. From object model to REST and Office APIs, this session will discuss the many options, demo them to compare their pros and cons, and discuss best practices to help us determine which approach to use in which scenario. Includes discussion of both on-premises SharePoint and SharePoint Online (Office 365).
